Coaching: A supportive and challenging relationship with a coach where individuals make changes to improve their lives in a way chosen by them. With powerful use of emotional intelligence, the coach is the voice reminding the client of what they want and why as well as of their successes and accomplishments.
The specific model used in Mindful Stretch helps clients to: a) think clearly, b) realize their potential, c) illuminate possibilities and d) achieve their dreams. Finally, the coach helps the client think in new ways, more deeply about what they want, how to get there and move beyond any obstacles in the way. Coaching combines positive psychology, adult educational principles, system’s theory and new findings about the way the brain works.
Kripalu Yoga: Kripalu Yoga is a form of yoga that is based on listening deeply to ones own body and experience and allowing the healing wisdom to surface and heal. Yoga means "union" and helps practitioners creates strength, flexibility and balance, on and off the mat.
Buddhism and Awareness Meditation: Using awareness techniques such as following the breathe, bodily sensations or working with a thought or emotion, we deepen our ability to be with what is, just as it is -- without efforts to change -- either running from or clinging to. We increase our tolerance for life’s challenges by learning to witness the endless changing nature of human existence. We come to see the futility of our identification of the small self with our human existence and begin to recognize the divine perfection in the larger whole. From here we have greater freedom about our choices.
Human Development: Recognizing that humans are not fully formed but instead always growing, changing and developing, this approach, instead of being based in a medical and static model can open a sense of freedom about the problems and challenges we all face in life. Recognizing predictable patterns that happen as we age or develop, a lifespan approach can help us look at our challenges in a new way. We can always learn new tools, skills, abilities, and methods for living our lives.
System’s Theory: By acknowledging the various influences and pressures on us, system’s theory gives a framework to understand behaviors, motivations, and attitudes. System’s theory recognizes and explains the why and the larger picture of things. Recognizing typical behavior patterns that are played out because of power, position, influence, alliance can be very illuminating into our own and others behaviors.
Appreciative Inquiry: A forward-looking, affirming method for asking questions that gets results. Grounded in what’s possible and using the growth-producing components of a system, AI build a positive future by using many parts and levels of the organization.
